Suena Kim: Traces of the Unseen

Exhibition Aug 26~Sep 1 , 2025

Opening Reception Aug 26 Tue 4 - 7pm

In the exhibition Traces of the Unseen, Suena Kim explores the fluid intersection of memory and imagination. Her works feature figures that dissolve into dense layers of color and texture, moving beyond literal representation to capture the realm of intuition and profound emotional resonance.

Kim’s paintings do not impose a specific narrative; instead, they present a "universal self." These figures serve as shared self-portraits, reflecting collective human memory and quiet emotions. Through repeated gestures and the strategic use of color, she disrupts and unifies the canvas, eventually reaching an unexpected state of peace. Ultimately, Kim’s work aims to dissolve the space between the self and others, fostering a deep connection through the shared language of the unseen.
